Namaspirit by Catagory

I'd like to introduce Namaspirt, opening up to share the various aspects of our studio beyond just presenting the label. We enjoy these various activities and arts and sounds in all stages and of the process, and find that inspiration can come from each of them at different times. Why just share some music and not a little about the pottery process that produces the art for the album cover?

We feel its very important to share our mission inside out, we want to unfold everything so you know where the energy is going once it comes in. We want you to know where we would like to take things, so you can support the efforts consciously. Maybe the next album is dependent on selling Giclée.... (pronounced [ʒiːˈkleɪ] "zhee-clay" or /dʒiːˈkleɪ, from French IPA: [ʒiˈkle]), is an invented name (i.e. a neologism) for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray". Or maybe buy selling music, we are being resourceful and create options for people to help keep dying art forms alive via our weaving studio. Sharing uplifting music while we do yoga really takes the sessions next level, and being conscious of the artists movements and projects past, present and future it becomes a major step towards developing point of purchase relations with true independent labels and distribution collectives. All we can do is start with a song....

One thing for sure, there is much to share and lots to bring into view so that you can share and understand and enjoy the Namasteezy Art Process. When it comes to selecting sources for music and art and whatnot, either as someone who is looking for a new cd or as a studio seeking good tea, or a studio a painting... This blog becomes our chance to make it all special, it becomes a chance to clarify our choices and mission, and our situations. We have made great sacrifices in the past to make some things happen so that we can all enjoy rare alternatives, special behind the scene sounds, and mediums that have a message. But looking at the present through a rear-view mirror while marching backwards into the future does not come without sacrifice. Going within against the mainstream flow has often resulted in marginalization and low budgets have caused confusing delays that have resulted in confusion with our artist. These artists have been experiencing their own version of these upset times and stressful scenarios. Hip hop has been depopularized  and fiber arts have never been invested in; so when it comes to hemp paper and natural dyes, organic sounds and a language that lacks words for the inner most dimensions running into resistance is the american experience. And when it comes to respecting the spirituality in the subcultures, and understanding them as the message, often living something like hip hop as a way of happening in a world that was torn apart by marketing and materialistic values becomes a crucifixion. For those who love the art in hip hop, the diets and tours our artists musty suffer through often lead to misunderstanding about how the arts have been removed from the activism that seeds our unity. Without an understanding of how things were, its hard for younger people to see what everything has become, its hard to see the need for spiritual activism in times when people have been conditioned to think that activism is "trendy". The clubs become the only place for artists to build, and expressing hip hop outside of the clubs is becoming harder and harder. if you thought about things in terms of farming, the music landscape has been ruined and many people are not looking at the need to start a ten year process. Namasteezy has been very misunderstood by its own community because people are often conscious in their lyrics but not too much in their business practices, throw in some social fears and we can understand why Marshal Mcluhen said, "“In big industry new ideas are invited to rear their heads so they can be clobbered at once. The idea department of a big firm is a sort of lab for isolating dangerous viruses.” In the hip hop world, artists will say things like underground happened ten years ago. But people get old and or they let go of the activism... Things become exclusive and so on and so on..... Their has been so much disinfo and misinfo that people have become very jaded and fear based. And those who have the power to do things are not always the ones who have the spirituality or self effacement to get involved in the big issues.

If Crop diversity is a distinctive characteristic of organic farming these days, why should a record label not explore other mediums...

I will come back to this and add some links, but lets post it step by step so you know where we are going with it....
